Thursday 6th Feb

Today I visited Welcome Home, a home for babies and young children with AIDS. When I walked in all the babies were in a long line in their high chairs waiting for lunch and they all waved at me it was lovely. As sad as the situation is, I think it's great that there are ladies in the community that run places like this, giving the kids love and care and medication to lengthen their time as healthy children and improve their quality of life.

I will be going there every Monday morning to help which I am looking forward to. (It's quite a long journey and I will be using the public transport so please pray for safety!!)

Andrew then took me to a pre school. The children that go here are from more wealthy backgrounds. They are allowed to have hair whereas the poorer schools have a rule that all hair must be shaved to avoid inequality. The kids were learning English and I have been asked to go and help teach basic English and phonics there on Wednesday mornings.

I was also happy to get a FaceTime call from everyone at house group, it was lovely to see everyones' faces and chat to them!

Ugly bird
(Marabou stork)
In the car I saw some huge birds walking around a pile of rubbish. I've never seen such huge birds they were like humans. People call them "ugly birds" but after googling it, I've found out they are "marabou storks". We were going to fast to get a photo but I WILL get a picture of them soon. Here's one from google for now.
