Today I went to the church and African church is crazy! Watching he girls dancing at the front it was just amazing and the singing is incredible. Everybody makes a special effort to wear clean, nice clothes - big long skirts for the ladies (including me). They make loud noises with their tongues during worship that I can only relate to the films I've seen with African tribes haha.

The congregation saved up for a long time to buy a big set of speakers, microphone and a keyboard which they are all so excited about! However a bit too excited; they singing was great and so was the keyboard playing, however they were two completely different keys which was.. interesting. It was a shame to see all the boys sat with the drums unable to play them in most songs due to the new keyboard and its automatic drum feature! Some people mentioned this to the pastor at the end and he wants to try and bring back the traditional drums more rather than trying to be too western and losing their beautiful African traditional music.

I went to the source of the Nile River today which was amazing to see. We got taken out on a boat to a little Island and a man explained to how it begins. Luke (Australian missionary) and Agness (his Ugandan fiance) came on the boat, Agness was so scared but still managed to come - apparently most Ugandans can't swim and are scared of water... (I took the three kids who live here swimming yesterday and their Mum, also doesn't like water so watched at the side). We give Juliet (the mother who lives in the back of the house and cooks for me) the day off on Sundays so we also went out to eat.
Having dinner surrounded by little monkeys was sooo cute. The restaurant was beautiful, overlooking the Nile and trees all around us with the monkeys climbing everywhere. Such a nice evening and also a goodbye to Andrew (who's been introducing me to everyone, showing me around all week and generally looking after me - thanks) who's going home to Australia tomorrow morning.
My first day of proper scheduled visits starts tomorrow so please pray it all goes OK! Thanks for keeping up :-)
